![]() ![]() You also always have a bonus action with your defenders attack. I love that you can sit in the back while your defender can help out in the front line, so it's like you're playing two roles at once. Spells: faerie fire and web are the two big ones I'd recommend for this build, identify is always good to have, take support spells that you think will be useful Infusions are repeating shot and something to support the party, probably enhanced weapon or mind sharpener (or make yourself a +1 greatsword that you can use with intelligence just for the fun of it). This campaign starts at 5, so this is basically what I've got:Ĭustom limeage, +2 Int, Fey touched +1 Int and Bless - bless will help with sharpshooter. I normally don't like doing custom lineage, but since it starts at level 5 and will be a shorter campaign I think that's the best move. In actual gameplay, I find that it's often more useful than the theoretical DPR increase of Sharpshooter.īeen thinking about a battle smith archer for an upcoming campaign. I personally just value all the utility having a higher INT score gives me as an Artificer more than I do Sharpshooter. You can also choose to take Sharpshooter at 8th level and max out INT at 12th instead. Between that and Enhanced Weapon, you'll have a sexy +4 to hit, which very nicely counteracts the -5 from Sharpshooter. Then if you're going to be a monoclass Artificer, I'd probably take Fighting Initiate (Archery) at the next ASI. Take Elven Accuracy at 4th level to get 18 INT, max out INT at 8th level, then pick up Sharpshooter at 12th. If I know for a fact that the campaign will go much further than that, I'd play Elf or Half-Elf. If you're only going to around levels 10-12, I'd probably just start as VHuman or CLineage to pick up Sharpshooter right off the bat, then spend the first two ASIs maxing out my INT. ![]() I'd appreciate any suggestions as far as good infusions to use, feats to take, races, and tactics to employ.ĭo you know how far this campaign will go? That is, are you guys capping off at 10th level? 15th? All the way to 20th? I've never played Artificer before, I know it's super complicated but I'm reasonably experienced. Alternatively, human dosnt get the coveted super advantage but can start right out if the gates with Sharpshooter. Elves get access to "Elvan Accuracy" but don't start with a feat, and since I have less over the course if my level ups and would have one more feat I'd need to grab, I worry about not being usefull until I get super high level. I'm also torn between an Elf race and a Human race. Each gets an Int based ranged weapon attack with either the Lightning Launcher or Battle ready. I'm using pointbuy, all official WOTC content, no homebrew, a little UA.ĭoes anyone have any ideas? I'm torn between Armoror (infiltrator) and Battle Smith. For this character I hardly get any of that but that's fine, I'm more going for a person who uses their head to make these insane trick shots with a bunch of crazy utility on the side. I'm used to making Sharpshooter Fighters but they get two more ASIs and are focused on weapon use. Making an Artificer sharpshooter and I have no idea where to start.
